WP: Hughes (1-0) | LP: Pearson (2-2) |
Aces beat:
The Aces, after using three different pitchers to hold the Ducks to one run over the first ten innings of the series, further displayed their pitching depth by throwing yet another pitcher in Game 3. Justin Hughes came up big, throwing five strong shutout innings without allowing a runner past second (the only runner to reach second was a direct result of a misplayed ground ball). Meanwhile, Dennis Pearson struggled early, walking in the only run the Aces would need in the first. By utilizing Hughes, the Aces keep starters Austin Bischoff and Evan Bischoff and reliever Joel Crozier all available for Game 1 of the Championship Series vs. the Manchester Punchouts.
