Belgian Beat: Game 1- This was a rematch from opening day where David Buhr took on fellow captain, Alex Linenbrink. Buhr was able to keep the Islanders bats at bay for the most part, except for a 2-run-donger by Murtha. Multiple walks and hits strung together by Belgian lead to a 12-2 victory. Game 2- After going 3-0 on the season against the Islanders, Belgian looked to complete the season sweep. With their ace on in the hill in Mark Brannan, the Wiffles looked poised to do just that. Unfortunately, Brannan threw 40 of 41 pitches for balls and the Islanders were in position to win when Jason Hollister came onto the mound. Hollister was able to shut the Islanders down after the first, while his offense scored 9 runs. The Islanders then got to Hollister/Dancza and took the lead going into the bottom of the 5th. Belgian again scored some runs and had the bases loaded when Murtha took the mound. Hollister hit what would have been a game winning walk-off-moonshot-popdaddy just foul and Murtha was able to retire him and Mark Brannan for the Islanders first win of the season.
