Belgian Beat: The Wiffles sent out surprise story of the year, Jason Matt for game 1 against a heavily stacked offense. With the change of fields the high octane offense of El Diablos teed off, while their pitching shut down a recently struggling Belgian offense. Game 2 saw Mark Brannan take on the #2 for El Diablos, Chandler Phillips. Mark pitched well against this potent offense until Chandler hit a three-run-daddy which just barely landed over the fence. Mark continued to shut down everyone other than CJ as the Wiffles fell to 0-2 against a superb team.

Belgian Beat: The second round of games for the Wiffles took place against the only team who most predicted would be better than El Diablos. The Wicked Aces quickly showed that they are ready to play in their first game this season by winning a 9-0 game in the first. Solid defense by Matt Dancza kept starting pitcher Jason Hollister alive, but ultimately the Aces were able to string hits together in a blow out win. Game 2 may go down as the best pitchers duel all season when all is said and done. Both Mark Brannan and last years MVP Evan "Nasty Stud" Bortmas pitched 9 innings of shut out baseball while striking out a combined 55 batters. Finally the Aces offense was able to get to Mark Brannan in the 10th for 2 runs. Evan "Nasty Stud" Bortmas recorded every out via the strikeout and is poised for another MVP caliber season.

Wicked Aces Beat: The Wicked Aces started off their season just like they wanted to. Evan Bischoff hit the first home run of the year for the Aces early in the game and also threw 4 innings of shutout ball. 2012 MVP Evan Bortmas also hit the ball well as did 2012 Clown Shu Austin Bischoff.

Game two was a flashback of last season for the Aces as they struggle to a 9 inning 1-0 victory. After loading the bases in the 1st inning and threatening in the 2nd, Mark Brannan zoned in and had the Aces completely out of sync for the rest of the game. Austin Bischoff got things going in the 9th with a walk and then a steal, followed by a RBI single by Evan Bortmas. Bortmas pitched a solid 9 innings, not allowing the Wiffles to even come close to scoring.

Game 2 Video:

Balls Beat: High winds seemed to play their part in the series as Whiteford came in to play at Holy Grounds. Game one featured Little E v. Corbett. Little E got into a bit of a jam in the fifth, but Austin came in to shut it down. Whiteford took game one 5-3. Game two wasn't much more exciting. Bottom of the first, Braden went deep on Austin giving the Balls an early 2-0. The Aces came back scoring 5 runs in the third and fourth to give a final of 5-2.

Wicked Aces Beat: After barely getting past the Wiffles in game two of the day the Aces hoped their bats would liven up in time to face the dangerous Holy Balls. Luckily enough they did, as Evan Bischoff, Evan Bortmas and Austin Bischoff (2) all hit home runs. Evan Bischoff pitched a scoreless 3 innings before allowing 3 runs in the 4th and loading the bases in the 5th. With the tying runner on 2nd, the Aces decided to go to Austin Bischoff. He shut the door on the Balls as the Aces started off to a 3-0 record with a 5-3 victory.

In game four of the day for the Aces, pitching problems plagued them early. After walking a man, Austin Bischoff hung a riser that Nick Braden knocked over the tall centerfield fence making it 2-0. The Aces fought back and tied the game in the 3rd inning, and an Austin Bischoff home run in the 4th broke the game open. After the home run, Bischoff didn’t let the Balls to threaten again as the Aces move to 4-0 after a 5-2 victory. Next weekend, the Aces take on the Islanders and the Ducks
