The Donkeys headed to “The Club” in Woodhaven for their final divisional meeting with the Seals. In their first meeting in Week 1 at “The Zoo,” the Donkeys won both games over the Seals. The Seals were looking to even the score. The Seals got off to an early 3-0 lead in the second inning with a 3 run homer by Adam Cosby. The Seals managed another RBI that inning and led 4-0. In the third inning, the Seals put up 5 more runs on base hits and walks to take a 9-0 lead. The Donkeys made multiple pitching changes, but it wasn’t enough to hold off the Seals who ended up taking Game One 9-0. Adam Cosby earned the win and Alex Shore took the loss.
Game Two started out quickly for the Seals who scored one run in the first inning when Adam Cosby hit an RBI single which scored Chris Paquin. The Donkeys fought back in the second inning with a solo homerun by Matt Murtha to tie the game at 1. The game would continue with this score until the bottom of the sixth when Jason Hewlett hit a first pitch walk off solo homerun to win the game and sweep the series for the Seals with a 2-1 victory. Chris Paquin earned the win and Joe Seto took the loss.
